I just have so many feelings about Alfonso Cuaron. I think he is the reason why Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite HP movie. Not is it only a beautiful film visually, but it’s the film all the kid actors stopped being ‘kid actors’ and they started being proper actors. Well I think so anyway. Even the gesture of asking them to write an essay about their characters when he first came into the film was such an encouraging thing to do for them. Letting them explore the characters they would be playing for the next decade and working with them towards developing them. I always remember reading that Emma loved working on PoA because she felt so pushed and encourage by Alfonso that it was the first time she felt she came into her own as an actor, not just reading her lines but putting parts of herself into the role. I also think that is a big reason why that movie made me want to be an actress. I could see that it was kids my age, and they were really acting not just playing at it.
