It seems I am working my way through Hugh Dancys filmography. I thought this movie would be a fluffy chick-flick and nothing more but I really enjoyed it.
And now I really want to join a book club!

I watched ‘Adam’ this morning. It was great! Normally with films when a social disorder, or autism spectrum disorder is portrayed, they make it this quirky wee trait. But not in this film. They showed the constant struggle it causes in every aspect of his life.
And Hugh Dancy! What an actor. I remember reading an interview with him saying he would just sit on set reading Anna Karenina and just completely isolated himself for the role t be able to relate to how his character must feel all the time. I remember being quite intrigued by that, and thinking that it would end up a good film, but never got around to watching it.
I saw a quote that said: “Hugh Dancy manages an astonishing feat by making viewers empathize with a character that has trouble feeling empathy.” (Dan Lybarger, KC|Active) - which I think is perfect. There’s nothing more I can say about it?Just a truly astonishing film.

I met this wonderful girl on tumblr in 2010 and now we’ll (hopefully) be meeting after three long years! She’ll be flying from Scotland all the way to Canada to see me while I’m over there on exchange, and then we’ll be going to New York together!! I’m so excited I could cry.

Sup duude! So this is a thing that’s happening (most likely about 98% sure of it) YAAAAS

Calling all magicians of Tumblr. Work your magic!

If anyone has any information or knowledge about flexi-flight or multi-stop tickets that give you THREE stops please let me know. I know they exist but I have no idea where to start looking for them! So if anyone knows anything or can point me in the right direction I would love you forever!!!

"People (maybe even well-meaning people) are going to tell you that it’s dangerous. They’re going to say that you’re not being responsible, that you never know what can happen to a nice girl like you, and that you should at least go with a few friends. But all of the things you learn about yourself — especially the fact that you are able to hold your own in a foreign place, and be perfectly content with your own company — are irreplaceable. And young women deserve that just as much as anyone else does."

I’ve noticed a few times that whenever something big ends, be it a movie franchise or a TV series, and the big premiere or party happens when it’s all over - the crowd starts cheering and chanting. And more times than not, they are chanting ‘Thank You’. I think that is the most beautiful thing.

You hear people say all the time ‘Oh it’s just a TV show. It’s just a film. It’s just a book.’  - well to a lot of people it’s not. A lot of people, myself included, live in these worlds created for them but the actors, directors, authors and it’s an important part of their lives. So when you have a cast like that of The Office, who have been working together creating this THING that so many people have come to love for 9 years, and the crowd starts chanting Thank You - that must be the most rewarding thing.

I can’t think of a better way for fans to repay a cast/author/whatever than by letting them know that their work mattered to them. That it wasn’t just a TV show/ film/ book.

Do I get along with my co-workers?

I do love this time of year - however sparse the good weather may be.

Also, just an update on how the room redecoration is actually going. It has been emptied and carpets lifted. Now to finish stripping the walls (which I started a year ago..whoops) and then we’ll get a plasterer in and then I can paint!
Woo it’s full steam ahead now!

After months of begging my parents to get rid of the attic stairs in my soon-to-be new room, I think I’m having a change of heart. It would be quite cool to be able to come up here and chill (once its cleared of all the junk that is) x
